The Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has revealed the first glimpse of the KAAN fighter jet in its finalized paint scheme.  KAAN,  developed entirely with domestic resources, boasts a sleek and stealthy dark gray color scheme.

This unveiling comes after the aircraft's successful maiden flight on February 21, 2024. Following this historic achievement, the KAAN was transported to TAI's paint facility for its final touches.

The new paint job features a dominant dark gray across the canopy and central fuselage. This color scheme aligns with existing Turkish Air Force fighter jets like the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-4E Terminator 2020, fostering a sense of continuity within the fleet.

Meanwhile, development continues on the program's 2nd and 3rd prototypes. These additional aircraft are expected to significantly accelerate ground and air testing of the KAAN. Notably, these new prototypes will incorporate design refinements, particularly in the nose and canopy sections, for further optimization.

This update on the KAAN program highlights Turkey's growing self-sufficiency in aerospace technology and the progress made towards a robust domestic fighter jet program.
